Position Description:
As a fabricator you will play a crucial role in the production process working alongside our Clients skilled team of Engineers producing one-off and limited runs of prototype components to aid the wider team in the development of new models of motorbikes to bring to the global market. Your expertise in all aspects of fabrication techniques and attention to detail will ensure the quality and efficiency of manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications to understand fabrication requirements.
- Operate a range of metalworking machinery including welding and cutting equipment, presses and general metalworking tools.
- Produce components to precise specifications and tolerances ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
- To conduct routine maintenance and inspection of machinery ensuring the machines are kept clean and in optimal working condition minimising downtime.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in fabrication technology to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Keep accurate records of materials used. Monitor and maintain consumables and material stock relevant to this role and submit re-order requests.
- Ability to work confidently and independently with attention to detail.
- Experience working with a range of engineering materials including steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
- Experience of all aspects of fabrication including cutting, grinding, bending, shaping and specifically TIG and MIG welding process.
- Knowledge of press shop activities and processes and press tool design and development.
Qualifications and Experience:
- BTEC or equivalent in engineering.
- Formal engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Experience in all type of fabrication, press shop, sheet metal activities.
